Our West Texas Adventure
This year, we were gifted a wonderful and exciting EXPERIENCE. We used Christmas money from my parents, as well as Jacob's Grandma, and then made up the difference ourselves - and planned a wonderful few days we like to call - Our West Texas Adventure.
We started the adventure off at The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center & Botanical Gardens. We then spent the night at the historic Indian Lodge, at Davis Mountains State Park in Fort Davis. We attended a fun Star Party at the McDonald Observatory, and eventually made our way over to check out Marfa. We had our first "glamping" experience at El Cosmico - sleeping in a teepee was awesome! After filling our bellies with breakfast burritos, we explored a while at Terlingua Ghost Town before filling up with gas and heading into Big Bend National Park for some real camping. We slept under the stars, and noted that the stars at night really are big and incredibly bright when you're in the middle of nowhere under an open, clear sky, in Texas. We finished up our adventure hiking and exploring Santa Elena Canyon. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
What wonderful memories we made as we spent five days exploring West Texas - truly, a wonderful and unforgettable adventure!
